  1. Save the above black and white graphic "jewel1_mask.gif" to your hard drive, then open in PSP.
  2. Increase colors to 16 million.
  3. Choose Masks|New|From Image (Source Luminance, Invert Mask Data checked).
  4. Choose Masks|Save to Alpha Channel.
  5. Choose Masks|Delete and don't choose to merge with layer.
  6. Flood fill with white.
  7. Add a new layer.
  8. Load your selection from the Alpha Channel (Selections|Load from Alpha Channel).
  9. Flood fill selection with white.
  10. Apply a Blade Pro Preset (I used a blue stone setting). Go for a light shiny look.
  11. Invert your selection (Selections|Invert). Flood fill with white.
  12. Apply another Blade Pro Preset (I used my gold_old setting). For this one go for a darker color since it will end up as the "outline".
  13. Invert your selection again. Choose Selections|Modify|Expand (I expanded by 3). Invert your selection again and hit delete.
  14. Since the center ended up white, I selected the center part, flood filled with white and applied the gold_old preset.
